Welcome to Scott Chafin’s Justice Field

Baseball has always been a big part of my life. At 13, my summer baseball team was set to compete for the State Championship. Three days before the tournament, my dad took a call that changed everything. A rival coach, on the State tournament board, passed a rule barring kids who lived more than 80 miles away from playing. We lived 83 miles from our team’s base. That coach used his position to unfairly exclude me, and it lit a fire in me. To this day, the team photo without me in it sits on my desk, reminding me why I fight for those who don’t make the rules.

Behind my office, I built a full-size baseball field and an indoor batting cage. What started as a way to keep my children close during late nights and weekends has grown into a space for the entire community. Growing up, I always had a free place to practice, and I wanted to pass that on. There’s no charge for using our field—it’s my way of sharing the traditions that shaped me and giving back to the community.
